1. Please introduce yourself.: I'm ei person who lives for sacred and cute artistry :3
2. How long have you been making websites?: since I've created this website
3. And what got you into the hobby?: The discovery of neocities thanks to this video ^^
4. What kind of website are you most interested in?: Website with art. Either containing art and/ or being art itself
5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?: first I sketch out what I roughly want, then I try to recreate it. If there's something I can't get to work I spontaniously try to search up a solution. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes I just have to live with reality
6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.
7. What's your favourite part about making websites?: You have full control! And you decide your own measure of success!
8. And the thing you struggle with the most?: making the code organized and optimized
9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?: different page categories have different layouts. Otherwise no big deviation
10. How confident are you with CSS?: yee (still need to look up regularly)
11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?: nahh, is it important?
12. What is your favourite HTML element?: <img>
13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?: finding a better organizing system, especially with the css, lol-
14. Do you know JavaScript?: ehh, mostly just copying homework and changing it up a lil
15. How about PHP?: uh, are there cool features?
16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?: cute wrapping, no set theme for the insides tho
17. Are you more focused on content or design?: Mainly content-based. The web design is like a nice picture frame but I don't want it to overshine my "main art"
18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?: yes! gives me the freedom to easily switch hosts without u losing me (theoretically)
19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?: cool :3
20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?: Doesn't matter what everyone else says, as long as you work, you're valid, HTML
21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?: Fun internet culture!
22. What do you think of button walls in particular?: If it's in your heart, you‘re free to do it ^^
23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?: Pretty much the same, just different code organization underneath
24. Are you envious of other people's websites?: No, but I probably would be if I found someone who would do the same thing as me, but better. I guess I‘ve yet got to find my rival >:3
25. What text editor do you use?: phoenix code, but I prolly should change up sometime
26. Why do you use that one?: A lotta mental gymnastics that in hindsight doesn't make sense. used it as a browser-based text editor first and is prettly convenient so I might as well download it.
27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?: on the webserver!
28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?: As much passion as debating about car brands. As long as it works I'm content
29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?: looking at neocities, it‘s almost 1GB?
30. Do you keep local backups of your files?: oof, It‘s currently on the clouds ^^"
31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?: I lean more visual but both are great! If the focus is steered into the desired direction, it's a success!
32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?: Kinda. except my blog/shrines. On purpose
33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?: Nah. I always have something new I want to do. What matters most for me is that it works and artistic fine-tuning for the webdesign is really low prio
34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?: I have a few ^^, pretty useful for when I need help, haha—
35. Do people in your real life know about your website?: Yeah, but they prolly don't interact much with it.
36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?: weekly is kinda often for the long run? I used to update almost daily
37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?: I used to have a purple/ pink design with with white Text, but it felt kinda stale and too static for my taste. The intense color also distracted from the art gallery, so I made it more minimalistic in the Illustr/ concept art section
38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?: hobby/my art side
39. Do you do web design professionally?: Sorta? I‘m doing graphic design, so I‘m currently relearning the 101s in school. Mostly working in Wordpress and only adding content instead of styling tho
40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?: see above
41. Do you communicate with people by email very much?: a lil, could be more?
42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?: Still keeping it as a means for ppl to be able to reach out to my work (& maybe to convert them to the indie web, HAHAHA!!!)
43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?: Discord, cuz the most ppl are familiar with it
44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?: not always intentionally, I just like to have some noise in the bg
45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?: I have several. You want to find them?
46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?: This site here has many!!!
47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?: :3
48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?: Yea!
49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?: I can rely on them ^^
50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?: Iunno? Anything Illegal and Harmful i guess? Ohh, wait I have one!! One artistic faux-pax would be to upload pages/ block elements that are placeholders for the real thing (be it art or „content“) for the public to see. It's a better artistic presentation to have the placeholders when you work privately with the local files and upload the (sorta) finished thing online! The lorem ipsum/ Insert content goes here only gives the illusion of completion, so be careful with it!!
51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?: The webspace is a multimedia haven with Text, Images, Videos, audio and more! This has such a big potential for art!! But honestly I admittedly also don't experiment much with it either, lol-
52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?: I guess? I don‘t exacly know what these terms refer to
53. Do you consider different browsers?: Yea, firefox was being difficult with the scrollbars >:(
54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.: Firefox. I‘m watching Youtube on my phone with the nifty Ublocker extension, so I'm not wasting my time with ads. But on Ipad/ Iphone this probably wont work. Sorry.
55. And what OS are you on?: Windows 10
56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?: It just happend to be gifted to me and it serves my needs well enough
57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?: Yes!! could be more tho
58. What are your thoughts on autoplay?: pls warn me, I sometimes browse these sites during work time,lol
59. What are your thoughts on webrings? Are you in any?: Rlly cool! Especially the ones where I create my own assets!
60. Do you have any web shrines? What do you like to see in that sort of page?: I'd like to see art!
61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?: I dunno? Isn‘t that just like culture? Some things will be similar I suppose…
62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?: My Ideal website is filled with art and meaningful interactions ^^
63. Are you an artist? Do you draw or design your own assets?: Artist I am! I do draw many of my assets :D
64. What are your favourite resource sites?: w3schools for my Html needs
65. Is there a habit you just can't get away from no matter how hard you try?: not writing enough comments, leaving future me utterly confused
66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?: know your goal/ intention and then... just fully commit to it for at least 2 weeks. Even if it‘s not good it will be something
67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?: Mostly css
68. What do you think of frameset layouts?: I have no Idea what that means
69. How about table-based layouts?: Very oldschool, not really flexible tho
70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?: I think you will be able to see them all on my site ^^
71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?: HTML, but mostly because I‘m adding more art and stuff
72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.: I guess at the beginning? And on my other site.
73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?: I don‘t make new layouts unless I need them
74. Would you consider yourself a beginner? Or advanced? Somewhere in the middle?: between beginner and advanced for sure!
75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?: Yea, but I always fail to execute it as well as they do :'3
76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?: See credits and ressources page
77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?: prolly somewhere
78. Thoughts on floating elements?: Fantastic!!
79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?: px
80. Do you have a favourite font?: not really, I‘ve yet got to find one that speaks to me
81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work?: I would be open to that Idea, but dunno how and for what reason, lol
82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?: a lil, could be more
83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?: yea sorta. I'd feel honored, feel free to stop by anytime ^^
84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?: ~~How deep it can go..~~ Mostly just my art
85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?: Currently collecting CDs ^^
86. How often and for how long are you online?: prolly since 3rd grade to work on school presentations
... what, you mean I understood the question wrong?... uh... everyday for work and like 3-4 hours in my free time
87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?: ppl that are loving art and cute visuals. Also a lot of lesbians?
88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?: Uh… what is that?
89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?: nahh
90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?: no, use them if you want to tho
91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?: No, it's not an interaction I can meaningfully measure the value off
92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?: Not often, I feel too much like an outsider
93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?: If it's little i‘ll write on the editor. If it‘s more I'll use a textprogram on browser that can convert Text to html
94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?: No, i'm sure they would rather say that I lean on the cute side? Only cool if I'm saving the team, haha
95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?: Yea, Not deleted but thrown out into the trash (I do regret). If I delete stuff these days, it‘s mostly mindless scribbles to to clear my workspace
96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?: It will stay here until the end of time
97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?: It‘s a lot but gone thru the artist filter, so u can't psycho-analyze me :3
98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?: Yea, bunnypuzzles!!!
99. And do you optimise the images on your website?: Yes
100. We're out of time! How do you feel after answering 100 questions? ....other than exhausted.: Man, I feel kinda dumb... there is really a lot I still don‘t know about. Do many Webmasters know about this stuff or-
